Golf has genuinely changed my life. It is more than just a hobby to me but 100% my most strong hobby I have. I have been golfing since I was about 5 years old. Golf at Susquehanna has shown me lots of traits for golf that I had never been able to fight through until Coach Ettinger talked to me. He completely reshaped my golf game and made me a better player mentally with that.
Golf shapes you as a person. One thing I have learned with golf is that it is a very mental sport. I have been playing golf since I was extremely young. I grew up on the golf course so it has basically been in my blood. Golf is something you carry with you forever. You never really grow out of it. High school was when I started to compete. I have competed for a very long time and have met my lifelong best friends through this.
Golfing here at Susquehanna has changed my perspective completely. Golf has a hold on your brain. It’s such a mentally draining sport. Through high school golfing would have its fingers in every fold of my brain. I would lose my head and get so angry that it affected the rest of my round. Here at Susquehanna my golf coach has completely changed that. He is one of my biggest supporters and hasn’t known me for a year. He makes sure it is known that he is proud of any of us golfers no matter the outcome.
Golf is a sport or hobby that I think everyone should try. It is a sport you can have for life and also can give you life long friends. The older you get the more fun a activity like this can be.
